when typing in terms (like test or wikipedia) to my navigation bar (or whatever its called) into firefox it normally did a google i'm feeling lucky search to choose what site it went to. however, today when i tried to do it it pulled up a http://www.finderactive.com/ search. i've done a full scan with adaware, spybot, and kaspersky and i've found nothing. i can't think of anything new that i've done, except installed adaware and spybot (this was right before the search problem). google doesn't tell me anything about finderactive... anyone know what's going on, or what other programs i should try?
thanks for the help.

Look in your FireFox Tools > Add-Ons, is there any alien add-on in there that could be doing that?

If not, install Windows Defender, open it up, and click on Tools > Software Explorer. In the Category dropdown box, go to Winsock Service Providers. Any non-Microsoft stuff listed in there? 😕

nope for both. i got most of my addons from the mozilla website, and the ones i got from 3rd parties i've had for a very long time (no new ones). Nothing in the Winsock Service Providers that wasn't listed as published by Microsoft. i can't get over how i somehow have this problem and can't change it, yet the only useful link in google is to this...

edit: also searched in about:config for "finder" "active" and "finderactive" and found nothing. also looked at the search settings. some i couldn't really tell what the settings did or were set to, but out of those that i could nothing seemed to be wrong.
