Finals piss me off.

I personally like finals.
They're usually more big picture questions and thus are usually much easier than the regular lecture exams.

Final exams are what separate the men from the posers.

I hate people racking up points from homework.
You HATE that other people around you are gettings easy points from homework?

You must be the strangest, most unliked college student in the world.

No, I know I am better in tests and exams than majority of the people in my major. Homework doesn't prove how knowledgeable a student is on the subject, it just means the person spends more time on completing the homework.
It's the same with extra credit. It's only beneficial to the leeches that feed on homework grades.
I believe in the two midterms 30% each and 40% finals scale.

So you're mad that other people have other ways to improve their grades and you want them all to do bad since you know you're better than them.

Umm, again, refer to my last statement.

And yes, I hate them, too. Just got back from my humanities final, it sucked!

no offense UncleWei, but in my opinion it doesn't exactly mean you're smarter or know the material better b/c you can perform on a test.

time and time pressure are nothing to scoff at.

That being said it's usually a mixed blessing for me

Any gec (general ed course) I just want to take the final/quizzes and be done...I haven't had a gec where I've needed to study more than an hour or two tops for any midterm/final and have never gotten below an A on any paper or test...save for psychology...I got a B b/c our t.a. during recitation was dumb as a rock and told us the wrong things. Unfortunately, I haven't found a gec that isn't straight memorization to ace a test.

For my engineering/math courses...yah hwk helps 😀...especially if professor grades on absolute scale. Homework is a lot more important in finding mistakes early and increasing efficiency when doing problems. Considering the hours I've sometimes poured over homeworks/labs...heck yes I want to have some *reward*
