Way back when, this scene just blew me away, and it was in mono on a crappy twenty year old tv, and this was twenty years ago so it would be like a fourty year old tv now LoL 😀

Steve Vai totally owns that guitar and makes it howl, I dont know who played the guitar for Ralph Machio's scene but that part is great as well, check it out, and the DVD is available at walmart for $7.50

Well, finally the file is up thanks to sphexi, here is the link, 80mb clip of the Guitar war with Steve Vai from the 1985 movie Crossroads, right click and save as...........

Please mirror the file if you can and post your links so I can update this post, thanks.

Can't speak little man? Bet can't play none, neither!

Ralph Macchio's guitar parats were performed by Ry Cooder.

I remember this movie, I also didn't know that the guy against Ralph was Steve Vai. Thanks for the link and heads up.

I was trying to download it to mirror, but no love. If you get another link for it, PM me and I'll throw it up on the webserver (hosted at IGN, so bandwidth is good).

Finally got some sort of download, but it was only 3.5MB, and the clip is only 30s long (pretty sure that means that's not the whole thing).

I got a 47 meg version, cuts in the middle of some cool stuff. It hit 79.5 megs, but then disappeared before I could get in on it.

I think I've got the whole thing now. Gonna upload. Will provide a link when it's done.

Like above, save it, don't stream it.

Yep, you got the whole thing, fast server too, I got around 600kBps, thanks Ronin!

The complete file is still up on both links, and they are both quite fast for me, 600 to 700 kBps

Damn, I missed that, how does the audio in this clip compare to the one you have?

Steve Vai played both parts as far as I'm aware. He also taught Machio how to move his hands/fingers to make the scene believeable.

This is how it went:

Vai played all the distorted parts Machio's character plays, as well as his own stuff, obviously.

Ray Cooder played all the slide guitar parts for Machio's character.
