I feel compelled to say that everyone I know who has a Wii loves it. I will admit that most of those people aren't huge gamer types.

I bought a Wii about 3 weeks ago at Circuit City; they'd gotten in a shipment and had maybe 10~ when I left. I never opened it and returned it yesterday.

Sure, the Wii is nice, but I'd rather spend my $250 elsewhere. The games selection just isn't great, and after owning the Wii at launch/then selling it, I know that the controller isn't as exciting once you've played with it for a while.

I think the Wii is probably the #1 "buy then be disappointed" product. You buy it, extremely excited... then the novelty wears off and it collects dust for the most part. One of the problems is there's nothing you can do with the Wii besides play games. I haven't played an actual game on my PS3 in quite a while, but I've used it a lot.... to play Blu-Ray movies, demos, videos, etc. Since you can't do much with the Wii, it's bad game lineup really hurts it, while with the PS3 it doesnt matter as much, because you can do many other things besides play games.

That's like saying the PSONE, PS2, Xbox had AAA games at launch. Most didn't and took time for games to come out. Just like the rest good Wii games are coming.

There are good games coming out for the Wii, but overall they seem to be pretty disappointing. Metroid 3 isn't going to have online MP, which for me is a huge blow. That's one of the big things that I don't like about the Wii - no matter what Reggie says, Nintendo is not getting serious about online gaming, and that really hurts a lot of the Wii titles.

Look at Call of Duty 3, a game at launch. While the game has mediocre SP, its strength is in online multiplayer, which the PS3/360 both support. Because of this, the Wii version is vastly inferior in gameplay.

Then you've got Metroid Prime 3. I'm sure it will be great in SP, but you can only play SP so long before getting tired of it. That's when you really want an online MP component... and the game will not have one. If MP3 had online... it could be the Wii's "killer app"... but without it, I don't know.

I don't know if it's been confirmed whether or not SSBB will have online; if it doesn't, that's another huge blow. Mario Kart will have online, which is one good thing.

Overall, Nintendo doesn't seem to care about online, or they don't think it matters. This might have been OK last generation, but not this gen. Last gen, online play was an add-on "bonus feature" in most games. This gen, I expect online play in every game, expect where it doesn't make sense (such as an RPG.)

The thing the Wii does best is provide a great multi-player experience if you have friends over. The 360/PS3 don't hold a candle to how much fun the Wii can be playing alongside others. However, if you don't have people over all the time (which most don't) then it can get very boring.

How long have they had their Wii's for? I was very happy with my Wii for about a month after launch, then I got tired of it. When you first get it, and you're playing bowling, tennis, and boxing, you think the system is absolutely amazing... then things go down hill.

Personally, I still think the Wii is a "fad" despite how long it has lasted. I think one of the reasons people keep buying the Wii is not because of games, or because they made an informed decision... it's because they happen to come across one in the store, and make an impulse buy... you say "Wow! I found a Wii! How lucky I am... I'm not sure I want it, but I'd better buy it anyway."

Of course, when you bring something new home, you end up opening it, and that's what happens. With the Wii, I think that once it becomes easy to find one, sales will go down quite a bit. It'll still sell well, as long as Nintendo keeps pushing the casual games, but I don't think it's going to be outselling the 360/PS3 2/3:1.

My brother got a Wii and camped out for it. He has barely touched it since the day he got it. pretty much the only time he turns it on is when the it lights up when there is an update.

I thought it was neat at first, but after 3-4 hours ofplaying it I got tired of it. Glad they were so hard to get, because I probably would have bought one and wasted my money.

I'd pay $500 for a PS3 before i would pay $250 for a Wii

The Wii is not a hardcore gamer's dream come true, that would be a loaded core2 system with dual 8800'sl. However, it's great for the kids and the wife. I love playing MP8, Warioware, and Wii sports with them.

Each game has different modes, maps, minigames, and the fun is endless.

BTW, just rented Mario Striker, and that game is awesome. Easy to get into, but hard to master.

I've had mine since Jan. Two others have had them for ~3 months and a third a little over a month.

It seems like a lot of people are judging the system solely on WiiSports, which is more of a tech demo than a real game. Wii Sport gets old, I haven't played it in months and even then it was just as an intro a friend. There's some good games out there once you look past all the mini-game complications. (The Godfather)

Now that third parties are starting to take Wii development seriously and Nintendo had a ton of big games coming out. Things will only get better.
