Its still misses the point. (1) The rule of law is sustained, the Presidential immunity asserted did not last. (2) Before the event happens, its hard to judge it long range effects, after all, who would have thought, when a bunch of third rate burglars were caught in the Watergate complex in 1972, it would lead to the resignation of a sitting President two years later.
And when Rove and Miers go to congress and have their little heart to heart talks, its all well and fine to ASSERT, THAT IF LIGHTNING AND THUNDER DO NOT FLASH, AND A DOWN ESCALATOR TO HELL DOES NOT IMMEDIATE OPEN UP UNDER ROVE AND MIERS WHILE A SQUADRON OF WINGED MONKEYS RUSH UP TO GATHER UP GWB, CHENEY, RUMSFELD ET AL TO THE EXPUNGE ALL EVIL PARTY, then nothing at all happened is the Ozoned contention.
If nothing else, it may be the begging of the end for some of GWB&co, and its almost a certainty that what ever Rove and Miers says will have long terms implications.
