I miss my 2000 Civic SI (hence the SI in my screen name). What a fun car (for how young I was at the time)!

im sure the drive change from a civic to a s2k is a huge change, regardless of it being "another vtec, yo"

my pipe dream is to replace my 07 SI with an NSX

There's one for sale at a used car lot right around the corner from my house. Black, looks like it's in good shape. I haven't looked under the hood though. The other day I started fantasizing about selling the GTO and buying it.

EDIT: Up in Poughkeepsie, NY if you're serious. About 2 hours from NYC.

Weather was awesome in Chicago today so I took it for quite a drive top down driving. Super fun car! A huge difference from the Civic

Thanks! I'm already on S2KI! They have just about everything you need to know about these cars. Really a great place!

I like the color of your car. But I have to say that the s2000 is getting old pretty quick. I would have liked to have gotten one like 5 years ago.

I sort of agree with Zoiks. Back in 2000-2005 that car was the SHIT. It was better than a Z3/Z4 with the 3.0, and better than the boxster S until 2006 when it got its update.

Now the car is "rare" in my eyes where secondhand parts, and aftermarket that doesn't support racing (compared to a miata), and high insurance prices makes me not want to get another one.

I had a 2001, silverstone with black leather, loved the car, it was noisy, not spacious, handled better than anything but an exotic or until the EVO showed up to the states.

Now its 2011 and it's quite slow compared to todays standards, is not livable for me, the snap oversteer is tiresome especially when white knuckling the steering wheel alot during rains. However if you get the 06+ models they have traction control/VSA but I've never driven them to comment.

I think I'm out of the roadster scene, but if I could find a 2002-05 (glass window, AP1 or AP2 depending on my mood) for around 10-12k that was cared for by an awesome original owner I would put it in my garage. Now I'm saving up for cars that handle better, have more power, more standard features to accommodate a decades worth of tech.

Porsche Cayman in base or S would replace my desire for the perfect S2000 in a heartbeat.

i agree with most of this. Honda has an annoying habit of releasing great cars and then not doing enough to keep them current with the market.
S2000 is still great though.

....Snap oversteer?....the s2000 is pretty tame. SNAP overstear would be the pre 1995 Porsche Turbos. That is some dangerous stuff.
