FINALLY! I pressed 300 lbs. It was decline, but it's a real milestone for me, I'm a horrible presser. I'm just not mechanically built for it well. I'm so happy that I finally got there.

I've been doing something new, where I rotate the order of pressing movements week to week:

Week 1:
BB Decline
BB Flat
BB Incline

Week 2:
BB Incline
BB Decline
BB Flat

Week 3:
BB Flat
BB Incline
BB Decline

It's really working well. My flat bench hasn't suffered, and the incline and decline have improved, and my chest is fuller in appearance as well. I'm vehemently in the 'you can't target parts of the chest with different angles' camp, due mainly to the fact that there's only one tendon at the insertion point. However as I said, over the last 6 weeks my chest has taken on a much fuller appearance.

congrats!

i hit 300lbs on the flatbench about a month ago or so, then a couple weeks later I did 305lbs x2!

i am waiting until after the new years though to try 315lbs, which i'm pretty sure I can get if I try :)

great feeling huh!?

EDIT:

oh and my routine is pretty much identical to your week3 routine :)

At your weight, pressing 300? Your definition of horrible != mine. Congrats - nice milestone. Just don't hurt yourself.
Werd, I got up to 375 but in doing so messed my rotator cuff up so bad that even 2 years later anything over 220 kills it. Of course I'm also an old fart so your mileage will definitely vary.

I injured my Rot cuff back in highschool, took almost 4 years for it to feel alright again without any physio. Started swimming everyday though and lately it has been feeling great.
