Finally paid off my 20k cc debt :)

After 3 years I am happy to say today that it's all paid off. Actually I could of paid it off earlier but it was tied up in stocks

Holy crap, that is a lot of CC debt, I can't imagine the interest you must have been paying. Congrats on clearing it up!

Why were you investing while at the same time so deep in CC debt? Any gains you made would have been cancelled out by the interest you were paying on the debt. Maybe you didn't know this beforehand?

I'll drink to that!

Oh, you're going to get yelled at for being an idiot... but I don't think so... it's all relative, for all we know you could make millions...

I only have about $4k in ccs right now. $1k of that I'm considering a 9% loan for cash that I have to have next week....

I'll see more cc debt before the end of the year on new appliances for an apartment I'll own, but I plan on renting out 2 rooms in my house to get some secondary revenue coming in. w00t! I hope things work out with my plans. If they do, I might be able to pay off my house in a few short years. 😉

But why 20K in CC dept?

most of it was careless spending...

the worst thing is when this happens, you usually don't have anything to show for it, like sweet furniture or a nice car...

thx, well for a good time it was under a small interest rate, sometimes 0% so it wasn't as bad.
Oh yeah I definetly won't be doing this again unless it's necessary (ie, emergency, etc).

congrats! That has to feel SO damn good.

Man Im sitting behind a similar pile right now... ~$22K.
Mine stems from unemployment for 6 months with a wife and 2 kids to support. We needed those CC's to buy diapers and forumula (no lie).
I've since landed a job, but its damn near impossible to catch up on those CC's with the income. trying desperately though. Makes me sick to my stomach every time I get a bill for one.

congrats

i am i will have mine paid off or mostly paid off (to less than 500) in 2 weeks from monday

though it never reached 20K it did reach approximately 6.5K

will be less than 1.5K after monday 🙂 and almost completely gone after i get paid again

is it that hard to apply for a loan when you need money? Or do people enjoy getting rammed up the ass by credit card companies (10%+ apr)?

I never understood how can you get CC debt to begin with - theres that little idea about not spending more money than you have
