Good choice of stuff:

I bought the same case, PSU, DVD drive, hard drive, and floppy as you, I'm happy with all of them.

Use minimal add-ins on the first boot, IE no sound card or nic, no CD-RW, no capture card ...


Basically, you insert the CPU into the motherboard, put the heatsink on it, put in the ram, then install the motherboard in the case.

After that connect all the wires inside the case, and then double check them a few times (IDE, Power, and front panel stuff)

Then you boot up the computer, nothing in the DVD rom, make set up the CPU setting in the bios, and make sure the DVD drive is the 1st boot (i dunno if thats needed, but it helps if you screw up the windows install, like i did, because it reads off the CD instead of the hard drive)

then reboot with the windows CD in, and install windows. Then go from there

I just built my first computer a few weeks ago, and I have to say it wasn't as hard as I expected, its a lot more intimadating than it should be. Just read a few things online and you'll be fine.

Keep a working computer on the internet nearby, if you have problems just come to the forums, somewhere here is a person who can answer any question.
