LOL Wingz stated in a thread the other day that his employer is most definitely taking AMD very seriously right now. Call Intc anything you want, but don't call them bad businessmen/women ;)

Nvidia stock is getting another push from this announcement. A missed double opportunity in 3 months. Doh!

I personally think Intel's on the way out. The Hammer-based platform (K8) is better optimized for things like SMP, and they can dual-core without any modification at all. 64 bit extentions are nice, but the really big advantage is being able to use up to 8GB of RAM in newer systems.

They'll blindside us all in a couple months, hopefully AMD can pull a rabbit out of their hat and keep things even.

I don't see what the big deal is, every Intel user knows that they need an Intel processor and an Intel chipset to get a completely stable system. Using a Nvidia chipset on an Intel system will just make for a unstable and flaky system just like AMD has. LOL ;)

You don't make mass profits selling to enthusiasts. You make profits selling to enterprise level consumers, and home users, who don't need anything fancy. Intel is doing a fine job of the home user part.

Please head back under your bridge.

I wonder if nVidia will do for Intel what they did for AMD in regards to overclocking. :)

Lighten up, I was just poking fun at the idea (some people have) that no system is stable unless its all Intel.

In all seriousness, that mindset really does exist. If Nvidia wants to get in to the business desktop market, they're going to have to get people to move past it.

This will make me consider Intel for my next overhaul. Every year when I rebuild I look at all available products to determine which way I'll go with my upgrade. With Intel's only SLI option being Xeon based I had completely ruled them out. Still likely to go A64, but I will certainly be considering Intel if they have a nF4 SLI solution.
