Ok with help from several of you & hard work I'm finally connected to my network. The hard work came from(being a network newbie) trying to use 2 3com nics without proper drivers & I bought a crossover cable from my local comp shop that does not work.:|

Now I need to move onto the next phase, I want to access the internet from my client comp without detection from my isp(cable). Sygate was reccomended but does that give me the security I'm looking for?

I'm looking for something easy to set up. I can use ICS in Windows but does that give me what I need?

Any other ideas?

Yes ICS would work but one thing you have to remember is that you need to use one more NIC. One NIC would hook up to the cable network and the other one would connect to you lan. If you have the money I would recomend getting a hardware based router/firewall like the linksys. The units are not that expensive and you don't have to worry about having the other computer on so you can share the cable line. Look for reviews on the linksys units. I have one and I love it. Just my 2 cents

What kind of security are you looking for? Windows ICS, Sygate, and other proxy softwares does not provide much security at all... I guess you will have to install some kind of software firewalls like ZoneAlarm for any kind of security... unless you go with a hardware solution...

Thanks guys, I just setup Sygate & boy was that slick!
My other comp is up & on the net same time, now time for a hub & get Comp #3 on line.
