That looks like a smokin' system. However, the only change that I would've made was the motherboard. Although the Epox board is definaltely good, the Gigabyte 7VRXP would be a better value. You could have dropped the network card, and threw in USB 2.0 and RAID for free. All in all, a great system.

Russell "Mr. Bios" Sampson

Edit: fixed typo in Gigabyte board model. Had 7VXRP.

Only problem with the GA-7VRXP is that a lot of people are having trouble with them.

I have three more questions. How AGP, PCI and RAM slots does the Epox motherboard have? What is RAID? How many, if at all, USB ports does Epox mobo have?

Thanks a lot!

RAID = Redundant Array of Independent Drives - something you might need if you have mission critical data that has to be protected at all times (as opposed to backed up), or if you want to extract every last ounce of performance from a system. Go to Promise's web site and read about RAID 0 and RAID 1.

As for your system:

I would swap the GeForce 4200 for a 4400.

What are you doing with DIAL-UP Internet access?!? Ditch the modem and call Sympatico.ca TODAY!

;)

Ditch the 64mb TI 4200...........you'll kick yourself when you discover just how faster doom 3 likes the extra 64mb.;) Get the Daytona GeForce 4 TI 4200 128mb w/TV OUT instead............in recent review by digitlife it overclocks to 315/566 (past TI4400 Speeds)........plus its $153US with free shipping.................and on the hard drive..........why not go with a WD 80GB SE????? Only $17 more than a regular 80gb...........well worth it. Lastly great choice on cpu.......the XP 1800 is fast and will run every app/game out there at fast speeds.........(even my 1.2ghz does that:D). Sweet rig!
