Finally! Integrated "Chuck" patch with 6.10 ATI drivers!

Maybe I'm the last kid on the block to hear about this, but there is a little blurb on Firingsquad.com that got my attention.

Link to original source.

In the future ATI plans to include OpenGL P965 CrossFire support. That will open CrossFire up to games like Quake 4 and Prey. ATI?s upcoming 6.10 driver brings with it official support for the Radeon X1950 XTX, and also other goodies like integrated support for HDR+AA in apps like Oblivion (this was previously provided under the separate Chuck patch driver).

end of this month...but I'm not too excited. ATI has forgotten us Crossfire users since 6.6... nothing but performance hits with 6.7, 6.8, and 6.9 -- even including all variants. Next gen I'll do SLI...Nvidia seems to pay more attention to their SLI users -- THERE I SAID IT! I PWNed myself lol

LOL. Although, next gen is supposed to be where ATI does dual-GPU's right. The RD600 chipset with 2-way ports internally connecting the video cards followed by the option for physics...sounds tastey.

I too plan on trying the G80 offerings as well as the R600.

Excellent. That means all the nvfannyboys can stop referring to it as a "hack".

and fanATIcs complain about nvidia putting hacks into their drivers, geeze...

That's cool but why is it such a big deal? I just always DLed the drives and the patch and boom, all done

I just prefer it simple. Just like overclocking my X1900XTX. Find the stable core/memory settings and BIOS flash. Boom, no more 3rd party apps or CCC Overdrive needed for top performance.

Wow.

I was seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on a X1900CF card for $329.

Guess not. 😱

For what it's worth, I've been very pleased with mine.

I know, i'm sure I would be pleased as well.

But with G80 around the corner hopefully I'll be obliterating X1900 Crossfire with a card that would be less money than I would pay in total for both my X1900's.
