I was going to bring up the old thread, but I couldn't post in it! Strange since it is only a couple months old...

A year and a half ago and dove into the realm of home networking. I got a lot of help from this forum, and soon fell in love with networking because
of this project! I've learned a lot since then, but for my first foray into home networking, I relatively pleased with the results. I might not me pleasing
to the eye, but I don't recall ever having to post in this forum anything problems that were the result of my network install. Of course my initial post
regarding this whole project is rather humourous, but I can't find it in the archives :(

Enjoy and don't laugh too hard :) (btw, I am no web-designer, and I did the darn HTML in vi :p)

mucman, yu really did dive in.
How long have you been a Linuxor?
What do you plan to do with your network knowledge? Ever think about that?

TomBilliodeaux, I know nothing about Linux :). I gave up with linux because I found it too complicated so I moved to FreeBSD and haven't looked back. I am currently a sys/network admin at a small web-hosting company. I've applied some of what I learn at home in the workplace. I am currently working on my comp-sci degree (which I'll probably get when I am 50 at the rate I am going :p). I am still a neophyte when it comes to networking. There's so much to learn!

spidey07, if you think that's bad, the cat litter box is in the network room too :p. I had to hold my breath to take those pictures! I will be moving out in less than a month and I will be totally redoing the network :). Since I will be renting, I won't be doing in wall wiring, but I will be playing around with conduit and baseboard mounted panels. I also have an 7' (19" wide) rack to play around with too . Just to really wind you up, I hand crimped all the patch cables myself (patch cables are even solid core cable) . Actually that will wind up ScottMac more than you though :)

Cool, should do my network as soon as I get my replacement router hooked up. What kind of internet connection is that hosted on?

It's been enjoying the heat for 1.5 years now :p. It's actually not right behind the machines though. I can't wait to make a proper setup when I move. The
only downside is that the rack will be in my bed room...
