OK, I finally came over the fear and hit the order button:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum nForce3 Ultra Athlon 64(FX) Skt939 DDR ATX Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor Socket 939 Retail
2 X Corsair VS512MB400 512MB DDR400 PC3200 CAS2.5 Value Select Memory
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST3160827AS 160GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer
Zalman CNPS7000B-ALCU Pure Copper CPU Cooler Retail
Antec SLK3700AMB
XFX nVidia 6600GT AGP

Total: $878.47

Little more than what I wanted to spent, but oh well.

Anyone own the Zalman 7000 fan on Neo2 board? Hopefully nothing gets in the way.

Hopefully the case from newegg gets delivered before Friday...

OC? I wasn't planning on it. My current (soon to be old *grin*) machine's athlon xp 1600+. It's been a while since I overclocked. probably little rusty. guess need to figure out where to start!

Nice! A couple things i would have done differently for that config is getting a 3200+ Winchester core, as it runs cooler consumes less power, and OCs farther. I would have gotten the 6800OC from outpost which is faster than the 6600GT and is about the same price. And also 1gig of RAM. A gig is becoming more and more imperative.

Other than that nice :) Im just kinda picky.

actually I thought about 3500+. It's $120 more. I figured I'd go with 3000+(winchester core) and save the money.

bump wish I had the money to spend on a A64 system. Will prob continue to use my 1800+@2.2Ghz 200FSB for at least the next 6 months or long. I will get the 6600gt in the next month or so also another 512mb.

Either way nice system man hope all goes well for ya.
