Finally got my new PC setup running!

I just made the switch (at least, on one of my computers) from Mac to PC. Yes, that's right. The opposite switch. In order to avoid another flame war, let me start by saying I use a iMac G4 daily, and the reason I switched from my PowerBook to this PC is because I use the machine for 1080i HDTV playback (which the PB can't handle), a Media Center, and games. Almost all else is done on the iMac.

Now, onto the setup. The specs are:

Antec P180
400W Antec TruePower 2.0
eVGA SLI AMD939 Motherboard (It's the same Jetway reviewed a few weeks back on AT)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice (OC'ed to 2100MHz, using stock cooler, buying XP-120 soon)
1GB Corsair Value DDR400
eVGA 7800GTX
250GB WD 7200RPM SATA HD
Lite-On DVD-+RW-DL
Apple 30" LCD
Logitech MX3100

I was toying with putting this in General Hardware, but since this is more about asthetics then hardware, I thought OT would be okay.

Anyways, I think it looks prety good (especially when I don't have pudding cups and papers all over my desk), but what can I improve? I tried hiding cables as best I could, but are there any good solutions to totally make them invisible other then putting them in the wall?

Pic's are ~2MB each, at 3008x2000, so not 56K friendly.

Nice setup.

For hiding the cables: Put some kind of cover about 1.5" in front of the wall. Either white or black or silver board of some kind. I'm thinking like a large piece of foam board or even painted wood if you were so inclined.

You could also get white conduit or something.

G'luck.

2mb coming down at 40 kb (as they are) is just as friendly to dialup as it is to broadband, therefore your earlier statement sucks.

Nice setup, good to see you have an LCD that will take advantage of that 7800GTX beast.

Thanks :D. I think I'll have to invest in SLI soon to play games in their full glory. I can push Far Cry at 2560x1600, but BF:2 doesn't stand a chance.

Thanks for the advice, I may take up on this.

NICE setup...wish I had that kinda cash to put into a new rig...mine is seriously outdated....

I'd go with jarfykk's suggestions on teh wires...something containing them near the baseboard that matches..or if you're really ambitious run them behind the baseboard until you get to the plug

Got it refurbed from the Apple Store for $2600, $400 off the MSRP. But it's worth it; gaming, HDTV, and Maya is a dream on it.

Hey, well it took a LOT of saving. And the computer "only" costed me $1100, so it wasn't too bad. And damn, all that saving up was worth it. Workflow is totally different on this sucker. And being able to view 6MP pics almost entirely at 100% (well, not really, the monitor is 2560x1600, and the photos are 3008x2000) is a great addition when working with photos.

Are there any dead pixels? How is the backlight? (Bleeding/banding etc)
