Any tips or tricks to check out? Still getting used to it obviously, and I had actually planned on using my old phone until I got a case and screen protector for it but apparently they had to activate it in the store...? So I'll be looking to get a nice case and some screen protectors soon, probably from Amazon. Also wondering if I should bother with the extended battery, when I can get a car charger and a charger for work since I'm at a computer all day...

Lets hope I don't drop it at the bars tonight!

Definitely get the extended battery. I can get 4-5 hours more life on the phone with light-med use. Some calls and texts.

Got this case for mine. Fits perfectly with my extended battery. Haven't used it with the standard. I'd imagine its at least close. Not really a heavy duty but fits my needs...and slim enough.

For screen protector its personal preference. I like Ghost Armor's screen protectors, but since I didn't have time to wait I've got an IS on mine. It's not bad but not quite as clear as I'd like. Heard good things about the crystal ones.

If you're into tinkering then put a custom rom on it. I've got AOKP build 21 and it's buttery smooth. Need to probably upgrade and see what's new. Custom kernals gave me better battery life as well. I've gotten the best from lean kernal. Might try Franco's new one though.

Even if you don't rom and customize it the phone is a very nice phone IMO. I'd be perfectly happy if I had to leave it 100% stock, but I like to tinker and have added a few "luxeries" if you will. Some toggles and such.

I was looking at cases earlier today and saw this Qubits clear case one:
http://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-QUBITS-RETAIL-PACKAGING/dp/B0062V037Q/ref=pd_cp_cps_3

Have you ever tried it or think the Diztronic is better?

They're all basically the same TPU cases. Diztronic just has holes cut out for the volume button. Personally I would buy the $2.90 Qubits case and cut out the holes for the volume button or use as is. I think the blue color case looks sharp and goes well with the blue ICS theme of the phone. I would pay dollar more for blue.

Only case I've used is the diztronic. I really like it though. With the $9 I spent by far. I like the way the phone feels without a car but it was getting minor scuffs and I didn't like that.

Hey guys, I just picked up my Nexus yesterday. Was wondering why you guys bit the bullet cause i'm having a bit of buyers remorse. With my new every 2 discount, saved 50 bucks, total came out to be 326.

Firebird and Vtx, why didn't you wait for some of the newer phones expected to come out this quarter? Like the HTC X or any other quad core phone?

I have 13 more days to return the phone, so far, I like what I see. Huge improvement from my Droid Incredible but that phone has been solid for 2 years.

Edit: Logged into my account and the price dropped to 269 for new contract...gonna try and get my price adjustment.

Edit 2: D'oh, quoted myself...

Same here, I actually don't have much complaint with the stock rom.. (I can't believe I'm saying that :)

This is the first Android phone/tablet I'm running completely stock and completely happy. The only thing I've done is unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Still using stock recovery.

I'm stock rooted for now but running my own custom touch recovery. I've been too busy working on other devices and toro is pretty great out of the box so no real motivation.

My wife and I both have the Galaxy Nexus. Best phone I've ever used or owned.

I got her the pink Diztronic case and I have the matte black one. We also both use the Crystal Oleophobic screen protector and you cannot even tell it's there.

I've had no reason to root and rom the phone. ICS is a brilliant little OS and it has given me no problems. Before that I had my Droid OG with CM7.

It took a while for me to warm up to the Nexus as well, but I am extremely happy with it today.

Are screen protectors really needed for Gorilla Glass?

I used one with my Incredible for a long time until it wore out. Never replaced it, and found the "non protected" screen ended up being much better than with a screen protector on it. Never a scratch or fade either despite constantly jiggling with keys in my pocket.

That's what I thought as well. Soon as I got a scratch on my SG2 and Nexus I threw a screen protector on there right away, now I can be as careless as I want. With that and an Otterbox commuter case I should be set, unless it gets run over by a car ;)

Keys won't scratch, but sand and other fine "grit" can. Anything harder than glass pretty much.

Nexus does not have gorilla glass, there is a coating on the screen which can easily scratch. I put a screen protector on mine.

My Dx has GG and only has a few scratches. Since its my old phone I showed some people some live demonstrations, they freaked the hell out going "why why stop it" lol

I went with the Otterbox Defender, it's like a tank case LOL!

Nexus doesn't have Gorilla Glass. So yes, i'd most certainly use a protection screen
