Even if the Nexus doesn't have Gorilla Glass, it has SOme sort of scratch resistant glass. The iPhone doesn't have GG either but its some sort of scratch resistant stuff.

The point is its SCRATCH RESISTANT. Yes, you can show those knife tricks, but I have a Motorola Droid/Milestone, iPod Touch 4G, and Nexus S that says that you CAN get scratches over time. There are only 1 or 2 and the rest of the screen is clear, but to say it doesn't happen is... well absurd.

I can't comment on how good the Nexus is compared to the other phones, but it would be absolutely stupid if Samsung/Google didn't decide to put SOME sort of scratch resistant screen on it. Gorilla Glass is only one type and its made by Corning. There are other types of scratch resistant glass that are similar made by competitors.

The only reason I put a screen protector on my phone is not because its more scratch resistant, but the fact that I can swap one out easily. For $14 or whatever, you can easily get 2. And these guys last at least 6 months even under heavy use. I can swap it out and maybe the last 6 months I can let my phone go naked and build up all the scratches it wants before I toss it.

I'm a heavy user and I'm not using a screen protector. You just have to make sure to not put other crap along with your phone into a pocket. The screen protector takes away from the screen also.

I dont have anything but my phone in my pocket and I had a scratch. I dont know how GG does it, but it has never scratched on me, even kicking it across a parking lot on its screen left nothing but a GN in my pocket landed two.

Unless you can reproduce exactly the conditions that both phones were it at all times and always have it that way and never ever change usage patterns, you cannot say that the GN glass is any worse than GG.

Lol really? 2 years with a Galaxy S, left pocket with nothing in it at all times. Dropped, kicked, skidded various times on concrete, gravel, sand, dirt, name it. Bezel was fucked up, glass was as clear as the day I got it. I was surprised that it never shattered.

GN, got it on launch day, first month I noticed a micro scratch. I told myself it wasnt so bad and next month I notice a bigger scratch. Never dropped and didnt touch anything but my pocket or sat on the desk.

Yea I can say the GN glass is worse than GG.
