Do you get episodes faster with Hulu Plus? You usually have to wait a week after it airs on TV to see a show on regular Hulu.

Really? I thought hulu was posting shows the day after they aired.

I use hulu plus. The above poster left out that hulu plus also gives you access to all seasons of many shows.

Looks like in order to use playon, you need to run something on your local machine, no?

Yes, PlayOn runs a server agent on your computer and your Roku connects to that. It works well, though, and quality is pretty dang good. It'll stream any file than VLC player can decode, along with ESPN3, Hulu, and a variety of other web sites.

What's the difference between Hulu plus and regular Hulu?

Regular Hulu is free.

Regular hulu is typically available the day after it airs. Not really a problem for me. And almost all of the shows I watch are on NetFlix and regular Hulu, so paying an extra $8/mo for Hulu plus is kind of pointless. You may see some benefit out of it.

PlayOn is pretty slick for streaming media from my computer, though.

My bad. I thought regular Hulu was delayed an extra week.

You can always get a free trial of Hulu+ to see if it's right for you. If not, just cancel within that first month and you're fine.

Thought this thread was about this.

If you play video games, the Whiskey Media app is a must. Giant Bomb's Quick Looks have saved me a bunch of money that I would've spent on crappy games (like the upcoming Catherine).

I know you can watch them on your PC but think of it as an added benefit of the Roku.
