If your not happy with your raise try and find a job. I don't know why people complain but don't make any efforts to get another job.

No pay rise in 3yrs? wtf? You should have been looking by the 2nd year at the latest. If you think your worth more go out and get another job. If you can, then your worth more, if you can't your not but the job market does suck and a lot of good people are out of jobs...

Not sure on my raise this year but I got a bonus but more importantly I have a job. My last job stiffed me on my pay rise and I was like f0ck that, I'm not letting a company bone me over a pay rise and started to look for another job. End result with a lot of skills learnt at the last job (trader support, unix, fix, order flow, market knowledge) I got a decent pay rise. If I'm not happy at this place I would be looking for a new job also but I'm very happy so I am staying 🙂

Maybe he works for consolidated international.

<Carlin>
CONSOLIDATED INTERNATIONAL: WE NEED YOU

We're Consolidated International, and we might be looking for you. Are you one of those submissive people who show up, punch in, put out, pitch in, punch out, clean up, head home, throw up, turn in, sack out, and shut up? That's what we need, people we can keep in line. We just might have a place for you. Consolodated International: People making things, so people have things to do things to other people with.

Officially, we got no raises company-wide this year.

Since I'm an hourly worker, however, our district manager instructed us all to bill 1 extra hour every week on Sunday when we have to submit our timecards, which, since it is extraneous to the ordinary work-week, is paid as time-and-a-half overtime.

1.5 extra hours every week over 50 weeks/year works out to a little more than a 3% boost that we were all grateful for.

My district manager is cool, in other words.

Who says that I (and others) have not looked around (I have and have also phone interviewed but that's as far as I've gotten right now)....

If jobs were so plentiful right now, I would tend to agree. There is no need to jump from one toilet to another especially when there is more than pay to consider (working conditions, vacation schedules, benefits, current boss, etc). Besides, I have the absolute right to complain...the US Constitution says so! 😛

Over the past 3 years, I've doubled my salary. Unfortunately, this year I took a 6% decrease, lost 401k matching, training cancelled, no bonus, and more work due to fewer people.

See, you should have been a liberal arts major. Your degree is so specialized it limits you from a lot of jobs in the economy. Your work experience is also so specialized that it limits you from moving laterally.

It was mainly at the op. 3yrs without a pay rise is crazy unless his hrs are soft, commute I very short or career path looks good.

For me I'm in my 3rd job in nearly 4yrs and took a pay cut to off set my bs 70min traffic commute 😛

0% this year. I missed qualifying last year because I started the day after the cut-off day. Even with my manager vouching for me, HR wouldn't budge. Working from home a day a week is gone, too. Oh well, at least I have a job.

We have new leadership at my company, and the head guy has apparently determined that it's time to run the company into the ground, and drive out it's best employees (he's already chased out the majority of the competent senior executives and replaced them with his cronies and golf buddies).

The company pays below-market salaries, but makes up for it in year-end bonuses. The bonuses are not fixed, and are based on your individual performance and the performance of your business unit. Every year since I became salaried and apparently for at least a decade before that, so going on 20 years), the bonus pool has been funded at at least 85% of the total bonus opportunity for each group (so if you've got 4 people with 50k salaries, each eligible for 20% bonuses, the total pool would be 85% of 20% of 200k, or 34k spread over those 4 people based on performance). Last year the funding for the pool was slashed to 60%, which for most of us meant a back door 3-4% pay cut (and they also eliminated our pension plan).

A couple weeks ago we got a memo informing us that we would not be getting raises this year, that the bonus funding would be further reduced, our end of year profit sharing would be cut, and the incentive share program would be eliminated for everyone but senior executives. This after having to play "Survivor" for the last 18 months (nickel and dime layoffs every 8 weeks or so...my group has dwindled from about 40 people down to about 10) and consequently having to do 2-3 peoples jobs.

It's sucks from a personal perspective, but it's also sad to see the company I've spent 13 years of my life with being run into the ground by an incompetent jackass.

I'm taking a reduction because I'm changing jobs and moving. Lucky for me the cost of living is slightly lower where I'm moving so I may actually come out ahead....assuming I can find someone to rent my house to.
