Guys I finally got XFX 8800 GT extreme card yesterday.....

C2d E4500
Asus P5N E-SLI
CORSAIR XMS 2X1GB (800 Mhz)
ZEBRONICS PLATINUM 500W (WAITING FOR MY ANTEC EARTHWATTS 550...)
ANTEC NINE HUNDRED CABINET and ofcourse...
XFX 8800 GT APLHADOG EXTREME.....

after buying all the things.....i felt tht i forgot one thing...that is my UPS!!!..

I thought tht I can use my old 600VA UPS but the computer dealer said tht it will not be enuf and u need to take 1KVA UPS for tht.....

Guys is he true in this aspect??....cant I use my old UPS for the current system??......if not im really worried now coz i ran out of my budget 🙁(((((

u mean PSU??? 450W is enough for a 8800GT as long as you have about 30 amps on 12v line....You can get a good PSU for like...$40-60 these days. If that is what you meant...i don't know what UPS is.

PS: I have an Antec Earthwatt...and i love it...430Watts w/ 30 amps on 12v line..should work fine with 8800GT...all for $30

You'll be fine with your 600VA UPS. My APC 500VA (300W) UPS handles my system with the following:

C2D E6400 @ 3.7GHZ
Asus P5B Deluxe
4GB DDR2
Silverstone OP650
7950GX2
HP f2105 21" LCD
Chaintech AV710 soundcard
4 x SATA HDs
2 x DVDRW
5 x 120mm fans
2 x 92mm fans

thx for the reply MyLeftNut.....

btw for the guys who needs abbr of UPS.....Uninterrupted Power Supply.......its strange tht u dont guys donno abt it.....may b u call with a diff name.....

if the UPS isn't enough then plug everything through a powerstrip EXCEPT the box itself, it should be the one thing plugged to the UPS...

That way if there is a brown out your monitor and speakers go out, but the computer is still running... and if power doesn't come back you just press the power button on the case (which you can set windows to use for hibernate... or just the default shut down is good too)
