depends, the smaller the rim, the lower the gearing is to the ground. The larger the rim, the taller the gearing, so, in comparison to his old rims, the car will have a lower RPM @ the same speeds. Also, don't forget that when you get aftermarket rims, you wrap them with low-profile rubber, the overall outside diameter of the tire changes less than the the actual rim size...

Huh?

If the tire OD is shorter then the old tires the RPM will be higher in top gear. As the tire will have to turn more revolutions( at a given speed) then the old ones.

I'm sorry, my last post is kinda garbly  When you switch to a larger rim, the rim size increases a lot, but the tire OD doesn't increase as much due to the fact that it's low-pr rubber, overall, you get a bigger OD, thus a lower RPM@same speed. The bigger rim/tire combo will spin @ a lower RPM than the larger...

Not nessisarily. You can get a larger rim, and low profile tires and then have a smaller wheel/tire combo then you had before which would then increase your RPM.

Right now I have 15X8.5 with a 275/60 tire.Which is right about 28inches tall. If I went with a 18X8 inch and some 245/35 the tire OD would actually be a little smaller thus my RPM would go up. But if I went with a 18 inch rim and 275/50 (which are still low profile) the tire might be a little taller then my 15 inch rims thus making my RPMs go down.

Not sure about tire heights, this was just an example. :)

What's with the chrome on the rims? Looks like sh!t! :) Rims look ugly too, but that's just my opinion, I'm not the one putting them on my car! Enjoy :)

i never liked chrome rims...but for some reason they really stand out on that rim design....and i am strangely/madly attracted to those rims

SO what does this do for your antilock brakes? Get any codes? Is your speedo affected?

Can I have your stock rims? J/K :)

I go for more modest-looking aftermarket rims, but these look good. That's all I have to say about that.

I love 5 spoke rims, but I personally would've gone for spokes that don't curve as much.

I'm looking for Konig Villain's, but they've been discontinued and impossible to find.
So right now, the next two choices are Axis/Lenso VPD's (very light weight 5 spokes), or Konig Tantrum's (decent weight 7 spokes).

Any one got a hot deal for one of those ^?

I dont personally like that style at all. More like the BBS stuff or a semi-tight mesh similar. Simple but racey, that looks too 'rice'. They MIGHT look good on a M3 or something though, I thought of that when i saw the 3rd pictuere.
