Heh, that's actually why I'm attracted to it: I've spent 7 - 8 years in a field with the same day to day garbage. The monotony is enough to sap you of your soul. I want some excitement... some confrontation to shake things up. And since Criminal Defense/Prosecution is much more likely to get me shot, Family Law was the next best choice.
Divorce attorneys are most likely to get killed if I remember correctly its one of the most dangerous white collar jobs there is. Just imagine you've given somebody full custody plus a hefty settlement/alimony/child support payment against some crazy guy. He doesn't go to jail unlike a criminal instead he just festers and gets angrier thinking about her and her hotshot lawyer that have caused him to lose everything.
Anyways lawyers also have some of the lowest job satisfaction of any career so be absolutely sure you want to do it before you invest your time and money.
