no pics yet 🙁

from the press photos it looked like a 140mm fan might mount in the rear. that'd be awesome.

Hmm, according to the vid at Amazon it's 120mm all around. Really a nice case by the looks of things, direct competitor to the Antec P180 series.

"Obsidian Series 550D comes with two front-mounted 120mm intake fans and one 120mm exhaust fan – more than enough for delivering the airflow required for a high-performance system. But if you’re pushing past high performance and into the realm of extreme-performance overclocking, there’s room for a lot more. The top panel provides room for two 120mm or 140mm fans, or a 240mm radiator for compatibility with Corsair Hydro Series CPU coolers and other liquid cooling systems. The side panel has mounting points for another two 120mm or 140mm fans for cooling multiple GPUs. In total, the 550D offers ten 120mm fan mounting points, six of which can also accommodate 140mm fans."

Corsair's site has been bombing out on me for a week now. Makes it a pain to check PSU specs, not to mention the case.

I wonder if they will offer a side panel that will have 2 fan slots side by side instead of the stacked one that's comes with it.

fwiw, there are clearly mounting holes and grill space to accommodate a 140mm fan at the rear

No offense meant, but for similar functionality, and MORE fans, check out the Rosewill Blackhawk case. No door on the front, but I find doors annoying.

It's cheaper, too.

The 550D is a better starting point for a quiet PC. The door, foam padding and closed off additional fan mounts go a long way. I was quite shocked by the difference in noise going from a P182 with 500 RPM fans to an FT02 with 500RPM fans. The open mesh design cases just leak sound like crazy.
