I went through as an engineer, enjoyed the powers I had against mechs but wished I'd specialized in the group dmg rather than the single dmg. I also tried my best to do side missions, get all the upgrades, and do all the extra stuff, but some of the side missions were a little annoying. I made it a point get loyalty for all crew members, thought I really screwed up when I
chose Jack over Miranda and Miranda wouldn't talk to me any more. I didn't think the argument between Legion and Tali really mattered since both were loyal afterwards, but apparently siding with Legion then sending Tali up the exhaust shaft = Tali dies :( However I was surprised that Miranda took a shot to the gut but didn't die, especially since she wasn't loyal to me at the end. At the end I only had about 50% paragon and 30% renegade so I didn't really influence much of anything. From what I read if everyone was loyal they wouldn't die so Tali's death was really surprising.

The end boss was easier than
Grunt's trial
, but I was overall satisfied with how everything ended. ME3 should kick ass!

I suppose I should do another run through...

i gotta say
i finally broke down and bought me2 during xmas sale
before that nv was my goty hands down.
didnt care much for me1
but me2 literally blew me away
"epic" is overused, but me is quite possibly the most epic game ive played since final fantasy 7 in terms of just being floored by the presentation and sexiness of it.
no doubt in my mind Me2 was 2010 goty, and imo will go down as one of the best games ever made.
cannot wait for me3

ME2 was indeed an incredible game. I might play through it again before ME3 comes out.

I didn't like it, thought ME1 was much better, and I thought ME1 had plenty of flaws.

I played ME1 on my 360 and got ME2 for the PC. God damn is fighting on the PC with the mouse/keyboard so much easier than a controller. So I got ME1 and replayed it just to bring forward my decision/plot lines to ME2.

You could get the female chars pretty hot in ME2. I always make female chars since I prefer staring at female parts than male parts.

Spaceman, are you talking about fallout-new vegas?

Yeah I have to say ME2 was brilliant. If you admire action gaming with a real story line it's as good as they come.

The only thing stopping me from playing it again is the mining. I found it incredible boring and resented the fact that I had to do it to do upgrades.

How do I cover my words with that black bar?

Spoiler tags. For example, if I replace the braces {} with brackets []

Did you know that in the Sixth Sense Bruce Willis' character is {SPOILER}dead the whole time?{/SPOILER}

becomes

Did you know that in the Sixth Sense Bruce Willis' character is
dead the whole time?

Ahh, thanks.

Even if all your characters are loyal, they will die if you screw up at some point in the game or the last mission

Like maybe not upgrading parts of your ship. I would know I finished it 7 times. With an 8th waiting for the last round of DLC.

I liked ME2, but don't feel an overwhelming need to play it again. It doesn't have the same replay value for me as say, DA:O does. But over all the game was great. Fantastic story and presentation, cool abilities, difficult battles, etc. I like how you really have to use some strategy on certain bosses, and which weapon to use for the job.

Is there anything worthwhile to another play through?

Also, you will lose a crew member's loyalty if you don't resolve the Jack/Miranda and Legion/Tali arguments using a Paragon or Renegade choice. If you don't have enough Paragon/Renegade points by the time one of those comes up, you'll be forced to take sides, causing you to lose the other crew member's loyalty.

So when Miranda stopped talking to you, you had lost her loyalty and that must be why Tali died. You also have to make sure you assign all the right people to each task.

And yeah, you have to talk to each crew member and make sure you have every ship upgrade. Every upgrade you don't have = one dead crew member.

You can keep both Tali and Legion's loyalty without a paragon or renegade option. Just tell off Legion, then go back and tell him you lied.

I just started a couple nights ago and I'm loving it so far. I played through ME1 as just the default soldier / sole survivor and just imported my charactor.

ME1 was amazing and I think ME2 has improved on a ton of game play elements.

damn i may have to go back a save game or 2 and try this

Damn, 7 times and I never thought of that.

Well, I shouldn't say no renegade or paragon option, because when you tell Legion you lied I think you need to pass one, but the requirement is way lower than the ones in the Tali vs Legion part. I tried to play pure renegade and even I could convince Legion using the paragon option.
