Finally beat Fallout 3

Enjoyed the game immensely. There were some parts that were a little slow and kind of dragged on but overall it was very good.

Fallout 3 is one of the very few games I can play over after I beat it. Doing my 3rd play through now trying to do as many side quests as I can before heading into the main storyline.

I was pissed when I beat the game. Weak ending for all that.

The ending wasn't vary satisfying, that's for sure. I guess they were going for a dark approach there. Anyway, get the Broken Steel DLC. It changes the way the game's story ends and lets you keep playing afterwards.

I still haven't finished Broken Steel...I got caught up in doing random side quests.

Gotta finish it up before New Vegas...yeah I know they're not related, but it wouldn't feel right.

Some of the side missions and interactions in that game are great. Check out Andale if you haven't already... 😛

yea I need to go back and play this game. I purchased it when it came out and played for 5 or 6 hours; but instead of following the main path I went off an explored and things seemed to get a bit screwy when I did that (I think I hit some places/quests that assumed I had done other things earlier) so I think I need to restart and just follow the main path.

So many games so little time. Been playing king bounty for the past 6 months and squeezing in dragon age (just started dragon age awakening which I am not enjoying).

If you forge ahead with the main quest the game is incredibly short.
BUT, unlike Oblivion you can't run around in the world after you beat the game.

Its been a long time since I've played, but I purposely left the game right before the last cut scene to beat the game. I have this huge troll guy following me thats all I remembered last.

The main problem with Fallout 3's climax isn't that it's anticlimactic. It's that it actually angers you enough to stop and think about how friggin stupid the plot was to begin with.

Really?

Maybe I'm over simplistic, but I didn't think it was stupid... I certainly wasn't 'angry'.

Did you miss the part where it's essentially a battle over who gets to turn on a water purifier? It's like shooting people over who gets to attach the Brita to your faucet.

Not exactly. Spoiler alert!

The Enclave wants to use the water purifier to distribute the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). It would basically wipe out anyone who had some kind of genetic mutation caused by radiation. This means all ghouls, super mutants, and most humans who have been in the wastes long enough. The goal is to create a pure strain of humanity.

Your Dad and his team wanted to use the purifier to provide clean, radiation free water to the masses, thus lifting them up out of their turmoil. The Enclave wants to use it to dominate. Check out some of the Fallout backstory, because it's not really explained well in Fallout 3.

Funny. I really wanted to like this game. I love the Stalkers. And I loved the environment/atmosphere. But I just couldn't get into it. Maybe there was just a little too much RPG in my FPS....Didn't like getting beaten by giant scorpions still like 7 hours into the game. I literally played for like 6/7 hours then put it down and resold it....

I think it took me 2 hrs to get past the fire ants in the first major town...

Otherwise, pretty awesome game. Although with the unlimited carrying ability hack and an unnamed super powerful partner, the game got too easy

Fallout 3 is a terrible FPS, and that was one of my biggest hurdles to overcome - once I started using V.A.T.S. everything worked out much better.

The game got too easy with cheats... no freaking way! Fallout 3 is easy enough as it is, why did you decide to use cheats?

Awesome Game and I really liked the Ending as well. Kinda sucks that the Game completely Ends, without Broken Steel, where it does, but the Tribute Ending was well done and seems fitting for this type of Story.

I disliked the game very much. Low max level and when you get to that level all the guys are easy to kill, lame main story which is too short, side-quests are not that fun, voice acting was TERRIBLE, graphics not that good at all and textures were extremely low quality, "dungeon design" was boring and lazy as everything looked pretty much the same, and ending was terrible. The freedom was the only redeeming aspect of the game.
