We had a fun little jaunt in the lower part of the country that ended yesterday as we tried to make our way from Phoenix back to Detroit. The weather had a bit to say about that and our flight was cancelled. Nothing was confirmed available until Thursday to DTW so we started looking at all the nearby cities over the next 2 days so I could drive the rest of the way. Chicago, GR, Indy, St Louis etc all sold out. We were thinking about driving from Nashville until I saw a flight to Columbus. We asked and lo and behold they had over 44 empty seats on it!
So we got in on one of the last flights of the day and managed to snag an AWD vehicle before they were (quickly) all taken for a fun 5.5 hour drive back home overnight through the 'Winter Weather Advisory' zone.
So thank you Ohio for being so shitty that almost no one wants to fly there even when they have no other options
