I am so happy! For the longest time (3 months), I've been pleased but not happy about my P4 2.53 chip. With the stock heatsink/fan, I was rock steady at 2.93Ghz. . . but I couldn't get anymore out of it. No matter how much juice I pumped into it, nothing above 2.93Ghz.
Thanks to the recommendations for the Alpha Pal8942, and just some random 80mm fan I had laying around, I am able to hit 3Ghz. Isn't that sweet? I can't wait when my YS-Tech variable speed fan comes in.
Really. Wow.
So finally, 158FSB for 3Ghz with my P4B533-E and Corsair 400DDR@421DDR.
I didn't know that swapping fans and heatsinks could do so much. I'm at 43 degrees on Prime too. In my haste, I forgot to check what my idle temp was but who cares? hahahahaha (can you tell I'm happy?)
