I'm hoping I can finally square away my new system. The OS will be W2K or XP. It'll be used for the home with some gaming. I would also like to try to OC in the future.

Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD Athlon 2500
1 X Crucial 512MB PC 2700 DDR (maybe 2)
GeForce4 TI 4200

CHIEFTEC Server Chasis (Aluminum Workstation Tower with Plastic Front Cover) Blue w/acrylic window - 450Watt Foxconn Power Supply **Now with 2 x Front USB2.0 and 1 x Firewire IEEE1394 ports**

Please help me make the right decisions.

If you want to take advantage of the dual channel memory capability on that motherboard, then you need to get two sticks of RAM, not just one. Also, how much are you paying for that Ti4200? You might be able to pick up a Radeon 9500 for the same price.

There's an Asus Ti4200 with 3.3ns memory... supposedly it can be overclock to more than Ti4600 speeds... I have one coming in the mail, should be here monday... I'll report back how it does.

Might want to pick up some Corsair RAM at PC3200 speeds. Heard bad things about Crucial in nForce2 boards, and if you're going to OC you need the 3200.

Thanks guys.:D I had considered the Corsair but was unsure and definitely need to get the second stick next monthy July. Oh yeah and how stabile is the config?

FYI everything will be purchased from New Egg.

The video card was priced at 125. I know very little about cpu oc'ing and evenless about video OC.
