Final Foxtrot Daily

I was listening to a bunch of comic strip authors on this talk radio show the other day.
The comic strips are basically the last remaining piece of the newsprint that is only submitted in hard copy and has to be done at least a couple weeks ahead of time.

well at least it's still going to be done on Sundays...it's not like calvin & hobbes, or Peanuts where it just ends.


was anyone else here about 6 or 7 when they actually started reading calvin & hobbes, like when it debuted in their sunday comic strip? I think that was right in my wheelhouse, age wise.

I was never a fan of Calvin and Hobbes. The Far Side is the one I miss 🙁

What's even more interesting is that even with a couple weeks lead time the artists manage to stay fairly current.

Apparently newsprint editors are paranoid that comic strip artists will slip something dirty/undesirable in the paper if the comics arn't obtained and reviewed heavily ahead of time. Comic strip artists are like the redheaded stepchild black sheep in that industry.
 
I quit reading the comics when Calvin & Hobbs stopped. Oh well, at least you will probably not have to be reminded by seeing dorky Foxtrot ala 'Calvin doing *' car decals.
 
damn this sucks. I only have Get Fuzzy and Dilbert to read now. Pearls Before Swine is growing on me a bit.
Foxtrot will be missed.
 
i'll miss reading foxtrot everyday. Weren't they planning on to reuse old foxtrot comics during the week? The new one will in Sundays paper?
