i liked 7 a lot, 8 was good but i lost my save and didnt want to play again.. i started playing 9 but 10 came out so i started playing that.. its really good.. beat it last week..
FF7, but as I haven't finished FF6 yet I can't say if it's better, so far it's just as good.
FF8 is the worst of 'em, but still one of the best rpgs. FF9 is also great but not on par with 6 or 7. 10, well, it's not out in Europe yet.
FF4 followed by FF6 are my favorites. Of the newer ones, I like 10. 7 and 9 are okay, but 8 i couldn't stand. They should have called 8 Final Fantasy 90210 for all of the angst and "teen drama". Blah.
FF4 (US FF2) was the best, best characters, most plot twists etc. FF6 didn't have a main character. not many plot twists either. FF7 didn't have many twists either. and the spells were frickin' ridiculous, moreso than 6
I enjoyed FF2(US) the most. I remember when I first got my SNES I rented FF2 on a Friday and returned it that Sunday evening. In between I played it for about 44 hours of the 50 hours I had the game out for rental. 🙂 When my parents bought it for me the following x-mas I finished it in 3 days, after getting almost no sleep.
Runner up would be FF3(US), which I'm actually playing through again. Almost finished it this morning. 🙂
7 was quite good. 8 has been ok, but I haven't finished since I lost interest in it a few months after I bought it.. Maybe I'll start over and finish it sometime.
I really want to get a PS2 so I can play 9 and 10. I have 7 and 8 on the PC.
