Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Final Fantasy IV is my favorite game of all time. I heard about the sequel, The After Years, and it intrigued me. Then I started learning more about it, and the problems really started jumping out at me. Which is really a shame, because I think a sequel to Final Fantasy IV would be awesome.

1. The cost...holy rip-off, Batman! Please keep in mind that Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is a port of a cell phone game.

Basically, when all is said and done and all the chapters are released, you would have paid $37 for a port of a cell phone game! :Q

2. It's a digital download...I hate paying money for a bunch of 1s and 0s that has no resale value.

3. It's for the Wii...ugh! Why wasn't this released for the DS or at least the DSi Store? It would be perfect...after all, this is just a port of a cell phone game. And, they just did the Final Fantasy IV remake for the DS not too long ago.

So once again, a great idea ruined by boneheaded decisions from Square-Enix.

Well, looks like they kept the nickel-and-dime-you-to-death pricing scheme that is inherent of all things cell phones intact.

Maybe they're going to re-do it like they did FFIV for the DS and sell it later?

I hope they do, but it seems unlikely. $37 for digital copy of a port of a cell phone game is a huge cash-cow.

Yeah, hold onto that dream... a port is certainly possible, but it's extremely unlikely to be enhanced ala FF4-DS.

The microtransactions annoy me, but I'm a total and utter Final Fantasy addict, so it'll get bought in its entirety, just like the WiiWare Crystal Chronicles game. Maybe next week, when grad school's done for the semester. *shrug*

i bought this game as well for my nintendo wii. Very good game, the story line that came with the game is pretty good so far. Hate how you have to buy and download extra storylines to continue on with the game. The only additonal storyline they had to offer at the moment was Rydia. The initial one and the rydia storyline only had about 4hrs if that of gameplay for each storyline. D
