Final C7/LT1 SAE HP/Torque

460/465 is with the sport exhaust. Base is 455/460. Not sure what there is to complain about there considering it is the "base" model. Power to weight is excellent. Chevrolet is very conservative. The tuners will be able to get significantly more without crippling the reliability.

"Chevrolet estimates the Corvette will run from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds."

Under 4 for a car that will probably be around 55k? People are getting greedy if that isn't acceptable.

Pricing and options have been posted.

$51,995 including destination for the base model
$59,000 gets you Z51 + 2LT Option pack

from Chevy's press release:

At 74 horsepower per liter, the LT1 has greater power density than the C6 Corvette's LS3 6.2L engine and even the C6 Z06's racing-derived 7.0L LS7. It also produces comparable torque to the LS7 – up to 4,700 rpm – and its peak torque is within 5 lb-ft of the 7.0L engine. That torque is generated early and sustained across the rpm band, with 316 lb-ft available at only 1,000 rpm and 90 percent of peak torque available from 3,000 rpm to 5,500 rpm – giving the lightweight Corvette Stingray excellent acceleration at all speeds.

sweet mother of god😱😱 :awe::awe::awe:

That's not bad at all, expect a bolt-on kit soon after release that easily, and safely, bumps it to 700.

More? The last one was like 400/400, so this is a significant bump. I was expecting less.

The last was 430/426 with the sport exhaust. I was expecting a little more with the addition of DI and 8 years since the release of the LS3. This engine will not be as easy to work with either due to the added complexities of variable valve timing, cylinder deactivation, DI and a ECU that is suppose to be locked down tightly beyond what you see in the Dodge Challenger.

C7 is starting to interest me. I still want to see it in person.

It'll be interesting to see what they have in store for the "performance editions" - I'm guessing the z06 will be a 427 in the 550/575 hp range and there will be a forced induction (maybe twin turbo) 700 HP zr1 replacement.

The LT1 makes as much torque as the 7.0L LS7 does up to 4600RPM while having significantly better power, fuel economy, and emissions than the LS3 (released in MY08, so 6 years). I think that's a fairly impressive accomplishment for a base motor.

I'm still in shock the car isn't powered by a twin turbo diesel rotary with pistons.

Don't forget it is also supposed to get a little bit better gas milage and have lower emissions as well.

So more power, better milage, and less emissions; sounds like a win to me.
