Noobtastic. I think the main problem people have with some of your posts (Take this as helpful criticism) is that you may possibly come across knowing more than you do. People more than likely assume that ~800 posts you should have proper forum etiquette. Making posts that are hard to read or give people who are trying to help a more difficult time in doing so is never appreciated.

No, I never had any intentions on giving my opinion (I am allowed to browse, before I get a "So why did you click the link"). Noobtastic felt like he was being attacked and I simply offered my advice about the situation as a whole. His computer, this thread, people and how they take to you on the internet. More specifically when it involves communication

It looks fine to me. Go with what you want. Honestly, there will be regrets either way. Building systems to me always feels that way. You build a system and try to future proof it as much as possible and a month later you are kicking yourself. A lot of future proofing has to do with reading lots and lots of industry related news. That is, if you want to stay ahead of the curve and spend your money wisely. Computers are hard to future proof. Atleast anything past a year or so.
Of course, it also depends on your needs. Some people can do fine on a 386 even today. If you're a gamer, you will need to be on the bleeding edge for newer/upcoming games. But, prices are a lot more reasonable than they used to be. For around a buck or so per MB of ram.

I'll be playing the battlefield series exclusively (maybe CS....maybe.) so my confinement among the hardcore gaming masses is quite limited. I don't care for Fary Cry, WoW, Oblivion, HL, Everquest, Crysis, or COD.

The benchmarks for the HD2600 XT are out and it's not that good. So, there aren't any doubts you're getting a very capable system.
Anywhoo, the frame rate thingy for battlefield is: push on the button next to 1. Then type in "renderer.drawFps 1" If I remember correctly, you HAVE TO type in a Capital F and then a space after Fps even if the space doesn't show up. (Then press Enter.) You should see real tiny red letters in the top left corner of your screen. That's your framerate. Push the button next to 1 again to see the screen the normal way but with the frame rate still in the corner so you can see it.
You don't need everyone on the planet to approve your computer. It's going to run.

EDIT: Noobtastic in all seriousness though, Microsoft does have a benchmarking tool built into Windows. Your going to have to follow these steps quick though.
1. Save any documents you might have open and close all open programs
2. This is where you have to be really really fast, I suggest reading through all the instructions then attempt this when your done.
3. hit the control and escape keys.
now press the U key once and then quickly press the T key multiple times
If you didnt press T fast enough a box asking to shut downs windows will come up. If this happens try it again, you'll get it soon enough.
