My sister had most of her hand tools and power tools stolen out of her garage in broad daylight...as she was mowing the back yard!

It takes about 30 minutes to mow the back and she was in the back for about 45 minutes in all. She left the garage door open but cannot see in the garage from the back.

Everyone in her community seems to have no trouble affording Ford Explorers and Cadillac Escalades with $5,000 worth custom wheels and tires, plus stereo equipment, but they can't afford to buy their own tools? Well no sh-t, if I spent more on my cars than my home, I wouldn't be able to afford jack sh-t, either.

Oh yeah, I forgot, people steal only because they're poor and disenfranchised.

Thieves suck ass. They took our van and dumped it somewhere. Its going to cost about $400 to fix it.

sucks for her loss...

I am in a pretty nice neighborhood as well, but whenever I am not gonna be in the garage for more than a few minutes (mowing the lawn, etc), I shut the garage door for that very reason...it sucks, since when I mow the lawn, I usually ending opening and closing the garage door 3 or 4 times...

theives pretty much suck @ss...

People do it all the time...There was even a rash of home invasions around Dallas last year where the robbers would simply go through the garage door to get inside the house since the door into the house was unlocked as well...

Wow. I'm always a little surprised at these kinds of threads. We don't even lock the doors to the house where I live. My car sits in the driveway unlocked with the keys on the console too. Odd.

So no one in the neighborhood thought this was suspicious?
Or does she live in the ghetto?

What's her address, and can you tell me if she leaves the front door open when she goes to get groceries? Thanks!

Same here, a guy a few houses down got cleaned out last summer. Same story out back doing yardwork, some dude with balls-O-steel just waltzed in, grabbed a couple thousand bucks worth of tools, bikes, golf clubs etc, and walked out.

You do anything to these thieves and you had better drag them inside the house and claim they were a threat to your saftey. Legally property has less value than human life and they will throw your ass in the pokey with Bubba and the boys - sweet cheeks.

it was probably a construction or lawn care worker. my mom had her bike stolen out of the garage in broad daylight too. it was right before christmas. I'm sure it made a nice christmas present for their kid. :|
