Filters on intake fans

Does anyone here have filters attached to the intake fan(s) in their case? For those that do, do they do a good job at reducing the amount of dust that enters the system?

Work very well.
Will cut down on some air flow (not too much if you keep them clean), but you can always buy higher CFM fans if needed.

filters are usually a good idea to keep dust out on a normal home or office computer.

i however, do not use any filters or grilles for my fans because I have found that it reduces CFM significantly, and grilles tend to increase the noise level of the fans. however if you dont want to clean your computer, use a filter.

oh I almost forgot-- if your computer is on the floor-- use a filter for sure. mine is on a desk so it picks up less gunk.

I just leave mine open and clean it out regularly... Noise really doesn't bother me though (I usually have headphones on while using it)

Hmm... I do leave my computer on a carpeted floor. I'm trying to keep things as silent as possible and I do open it to dust it out every couple weeks or so. So I guess I can do without one. Thanks for the replies. 🙂

My pc gets full of dust whether I'm using an air filter or not...it doesn't really seem to make much difference.
