So I am about to buy a case that I think will need some filters for the intake fans. I have no idea what I should use as a filter or how to make them or anything like that.

Just wanted to see if there were any suggestions...

These filter assemblies work OK for me but need a stronger fan than normal to give you the same CFM as an unfiltered fan: http://www.jab-tech.com/120mm-...an-filter-pr-2470.html . The metal mesh filters he has work well too - anything with a sort of 3D filtering medium will last longer before clogging enough to really impede air flow. The more 2D filters clog up pretty fast but are easy and quick to clean off with a vacuum cleaner or a quick rinse with your sprayer on the kitchen sink. Takes longer to clean the metal mesh and foam filter elements and some detergent may be required if your family cooks a lot of greasy food or you have a smoker in the house. Jab-tech is one of my favorite vendors for cooling supplies.
