Films dealing with human-machine equality

I can't think of movies that present a machine equality with humans! I'm trying to think of movies that present that situation to see if I can write a paper on them. Which ones have you guys seen? I also thought of Terminator and Matrix but those might be pushing it..

Keep going!

I, Robot was a really good one. A.I. too.

Films like Minority Report and Stealth also work.

EDIT: I'm trying to think of famous book as well but can't get any..

Meh, flicks on the subject are invariably dystopic. Ergo, equality, as such, is not to be found. What kind of shit story could be based upon some pleasant balance betwixt the two, I axe you?

Auric: I'm looking for movies that portray machines as evil, malfunctioning, or otherwise unequal status to humans. That's precisely the point. Movies like I,Robot which show a machine as equal to human but harmful is what I'm looking for =D

Right on! The subplot pitting HAL against the crew raises all kinds of man/machine ethical issues. (Which is fit to meet the future through the obelisk?)

You mentioned the pinnacle of these types of movies in the OP so why bother going on? Blade Runner is still one of the best Sci-Fi movies in my opinion, better than any of the modern CGG bullshit ones.
