If you want to see a documentary on the torture issue, try this one. Free, online.

Here.

Commentary:

Recommended by Bill Moyers, this film adds some new information and exposure to the issue. It interviews multiple detainees who were tortured.

IMO, a good complementary read is Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine", its early content doing an outstanidng job at explaining the destruction 'sensory depravation' causes.

This documentary helps portray just how radican and criminal the policies were - it has interviews with people such as the top Navy Lawyer, and you see how even people at that level were lied to by Rumsfeld who told them the techniques were suspended over their concerns, while he secretly authorized the techniques. That's a criminal conspiracy. Or, the top trained for the Navy Seal SERE training, who explains that techniques taken from training and applied to detainees are totally inappropriate - and it's criminal to do so.

As with Watergate, holding our elected officials accountable is awkward and uncomfortable, but when their actions are radical and illegal, we need to do so or the nation is weakened.

Excellent documentary, and yeah, letting this slide effectively undermines the principle that we are a nation of laws.

Another good documentary dedicated to our government's activity in paranormal research, but touching on the torture issue, is Crazy Rulers of the World. It was on Google video in full at one point but unfortunately I only find a couple clips and torrents when searching now. The documentary was made along side a book, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and a Hollywood movie of the same title and based on that investigative journalism is set to release this December. Hopefully that turns out well and helps bring some much needed attention to this issue which our mainstream media has effectively buried.

30 minutes in...what an amazing documentary. How could anyone still support Bush & Co's actions? These fuckers belong in prison.

Disturbing that we have fallen so far in the name of perceived security and safety :(

We still have a long way to fall if people don't wake up. I'm sure Hilter's policies also started off as some noble, patriotic cause.

I watched the segment on his show and noted the film for viewing.

All the forces of war were compelling,
And blacker than Colin, the Knight,
And the lies they were telling, they sell in the name of their savior.

And who's watching over who's watching over you?
Tell me who's telling who's telling you what to do what to do?

We will, but we'll leave brainless children like you sitting in your own poop filled diapers until you grow up... if you ever do.
