Although Jerry Goldsmith wasn't my favorite composer, he was arguably one of the most prolific and influential composers out there. Besides, what geek DOESN'T know his theme to Star Trek: The Motion Picture?

Besides the music for the films mentioned in the summary, I love his scores to Mulan, Lionheart, the 13th Warrior, Planet of the Apes, Masada, Air Force One, L.A. Confidential, The Boys from Brazil, Medicine Man, Capricorn One, The Secret of NIMH, Total Recall, First Knight, and The Sum of All Fears

music is atleast half of a movie, well, no movie can be great without great music, his themes were just awesome.
