Filing for Financial Aid

For those in college, did you do it yet? It says file ASAP after 1/1/02. I am very anxious cuz I've been told the sooner
the better. However, I need my parents to finish filing their income tax before I submit my paperwork! Sucks!

Did you file for fall semester? If so, you should not need to file again until fall again, should you? I graduated in '98 so it may have changed.

I have to submit my returning student profile by Feb 15, check with your individual school. I don't remember when I turned it in last year, but i think it was before March 1st (?). Good luck with it. FYI: your parents don't need to have filed, only have to have their figures ready (it says on the sheets that you can approx. if you don't know for sure)

Good luck with it.

I just filed for FA today for the 2002 spring semester :Q

Not expecting on getting much aid but anything would help.

Anyway, took me about an hour to fill the damned form out. I did it online so hopefully it'll get back sooner.

You shouldn't need to wait for your parents income tax to be done. If they have their W-2's or know what they make per year you should be fine. Last year's tax papers would work as well if your parents have the same job and last year.

You can file the FAFSA anytime after 1/1. You can estimate income then update it when income taxes are done.
