This was the last good download site on the internet. All thats left now is garbage like Fileplanet and fileshack where you need to wait an hour in line just to download a 1mb file.

What I hate is on some websites you have to go through a number of pop-up windows to get to the final link for downloading a simple small patch! :|

Where is everyone going to go now?

download.com is halfway decent although it is sometimes hard to find what you are looking for.

I am sure a new site will emerge within the next few weeks to take over the slack filefront left behind as well.

Filehippo is pretty good. It isn't that widely used as of yet though. Maybe with FF closing, it'll become the new standard.

Edit:

Just looked at it, and it doesn't look like they deal with game files. I've easily downloaded other things from them with good speeds. Not game files though I guess :^/

Yep, ZD is bleeding money profusely but they were having financial problems before the economic downturn. A shame about FF but I suspect someone somewhere will pick up the slack. It just remains to see who it is and when.

I think gamershell.com is still a great place to go for pretty much everything.

That's where I usually go. I used to use 3DGamers.com until Fileplanet took it over, when that happened I switched to GamersHell.
