I tried using BearShare (Like Napster, but for files and the like), but my throughput jumps all over the place..some time 500K+, then drops to nothing, then 10K, etc, etc ...anyone use a program like this that has reliable download speeds?
I've tried all of them and they all suck. Imesh drops downloads all the time, gnutella hardly ever ends up connecting, bearshare can't make gnutella work any better, etc. etc. I want napster forever ;(
only tried bearshare...
so many dumb options and still it doesn't work right. If these 'napster replacements' don't step up on the effort, they're not gonna go anywhere.
I've tried edonkey. One problem with this program is that there aren't many users. You do get good download rates provided IF the complete file is available.
<< I use Imesh and it also sucks. I can't seem to find anything, and when I do I always get dropped connections when donwloading or really slow d/l.:| >>
What's this 'dropped connections'? I don't seem to have it when using iMesh...
BTW I think that iMesh rocks, but that's of course only my opinion.
what is hotline all about? I downloaded it, but I cant seem to find anything interesting. Theres just a bunch of macintosh-related stuff and indipendant films.... am i not looking in the right places?
