File share between 7 and XP ?

I've not been able to do it.
Is there an easy way to do it? What am I missing?
Anyone here succeed in sharing between XP and 7 system?

Which OS is doing the sharing? And if its XP, do you have Simple File Sharing enabled on Windows XP?

Nevermind, got it working. Just had to enable sharing/discovery setting and the public folders became accessible. Both computers saw each other automatically (wow! 😀). When I clicked onto the 7 system from XP, it asked for user/pw. I entered the user/pw of the 7 system and it worked, now copying files.

At my place I wasn't able to get it working, and it may be a router issue. I'll have to go check that out.

False alarm... ! Sorry, this thread can be deleted

A Router is a combo Routing circuits switch and Access Point.

LAN traffic uses only the AP and the switch. If the Wireless works, 99% of the time LAN issues like this as nothing to do with the Router.
