File repository / USB Sync

Basically I have a 256gb usb stick and several smaller 64gb sticks
Looking for a sync tool where I can keep the all usb sticks in sync at the same time.

Say I set the 256gb as master. I want to get all the smaller usb sticks to sync up to the master. Being that the smaller usb can't hold everything, ability to excluded certain files.

Or I can dedicated a laptop to be the master repository, have all the usb sticks do a 2 way sync back to the master and to each other.

Try SyncToy. It's free. It's by MS. I use it to synch network shares to an external HD.

FreeFileSync might be an option. It also comes with a companion app RealTimeSync that can detect when you plug the particular flash drive(s) in to automate the backup based on rules file you put on that flash drive.

I just set windows task scheduler to do a popup message that reminds me that it's time to make another backup, then I plug the flash drive in and... I actually do backups when I'm supposed to now.

At first it popped up puzzling error messages about not being able to sync to an existing duplicate files volume so I just deleted all the files and let it do it's thing from scratch which got rid of the error from then on. Note that you can specify USB volumes by volume name instead of only drive letter.
