file permissions

im gonna format my hard drive soon and i remember last time i did, i had problems getting the file permissions to allow me (not the administrator account) to use the files on my second hard drive

how do i change it so both me and "administrator" can use them?

After you install, assume ownership of all the files on your second drive... If you don't know how to do this search the microsoft knowledge base.

You might need to disable "Use Simple File Sharing" to get access to that tab first.

Tools menu, Folder Options, View Tab, at the bottom.. uncheck it.
 
I wondered about that too, as to why stupid XP didn't show the security tab. What, oh, that's right, Microsoft thinks that no one using XP can handle simple file permissions, it's too hard, we need to make it easy.
