Need some real help on this - got hit by welchia and blaster while i had the antivirus/firewall down while trying to install norton 2004 -my dumb ass left the ethernet plugged in ...
anyways reinstalled 2000 and gained access to my old files -saved most of the crucial stuff, ran symantec fixes for detected viruses

but half of my music won't play and i can't copy it to the spare hard drive i am copying files to to save/backup

when i try to cut/copy/play the files I get an error that says files not accessable -may be in use by another program
i hit cntl-alt-del and close all possible programs -and i still can access the music

i've tried unsuccessfully searching for an answer -and the microsoft knowledge data base comes close with the error -but fix is only for pictures -accessed by explorer to do pic preview

anyone got any ideas ?

Have you tried copying the files in a DOS prompt (or command prompt) within Windows?

ie. "copy *.* <destination>"?
