My XP laptop had winamp installed on it... anytime I clicked on an AVI file, it would try to open in Winamp, even though I've purposely set in "File Types" to open in Windows Media Classic. I even checked the box to remember that setting. I finally decided to uninstall Winamp to see if the problem would go away... of course it doesn't open in Winamp anymore, now it opens them in notepad. I checked File Types again and it's still set to Media Player Classic.
The only way I can get it to open in Media Player Classic is with a right-click --> open with... so I know MPC is installed and working. How do I get it to play in MPC with a regular double-click ?
