I have two Win2kPro machines sharing a DSL connection through ICS. Host machine has a NIC to the external modem, and another connecting it to the second machine with a crossover cable.

I am new to this, and am trying to set the machines up for file and printer sharing. The Win2k help section tells me this: "You can only configure File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks on a computer running Windows 2000 Server."

How can I configure file and printer sharing with my set up? Thx in advance.

Basically it's the same as you did in win98 - the screens look a little different, that's all. The only significant difference is that in win2k you want to create new shares (other than the ones that are automatically created when w2k installs) and give permissions to "everyone". For security, turn off file sharing for TCP/IP, and use Netbeui as the default LAN protocol.
