It sounds like your insurance is kind of the opposite of mine. I think my insurance only pays something like $1500 a year total of their money no matter what. All charges get reduced if covered and in-network and they cover composite fillings, but if you want braces or invisiline, you're only getting $1500 of it covered.

I miss Delta Dental from when I was a kid, they covered everything...
